Chiara graduated cum laudae in 2003 at the University of Perugia, Italy, where in 2007 she also completed her PhD. In 2008 she moved to Switzerland to begin, at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Berne, the training program to become a specialist. In 2013 she achieved the title of Diplomate of the European and of the American Colleges of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She was an employee of the University of Berne for eight years, first as a resident, then as a staff clinician, and eventually as a lecturer. Chiara moved to London in 2015. Since then she works at the Royal Veterinary College of the University of London as Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia. She authored more than 40 peer reviewed international publications, mainly focusing on recognition and treatment of pain in companion animals, and anaesthesia and analgesia of exotic animal species.
