Dr. Ignatenko graduated with honors from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of NAU, Kyiv, Ukraine and initially went into small animal practice. She completed a PhD and an internship at the Small Animal Surgical Clinic of the University of Munich in 2001. Subsequently, she completed a residency in veterinary oncology at the same institution in 2020. In 2024 Nataliia accepted a position as the Head of the Oncology Department at the Small Animal Clinic of the University of  Munich, Germany. Dr. Ignatenko is the author of numerous scientific and lay publications in the oncology of small animals, actively participates in postgraduate education all over Europe and is a member of the WSAVA Oncology Working Group
