Dr Elise Boller graduated from Colorado State University in 2001 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree before completing a small animal medical and surgical internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital.  After a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania, she became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC) in 2005. After two years in private practice, she returned to the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she served as a veterinarian in the intensive care unit for the five years preceding her appointment with the University of Melbourne, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences. 


As a Senior Lecturer in ECC at Melbourne Uni, she is the curriculum coordinator for the Section of Emergency and Critical Care and is the Director of the ECC residency program.  Elise completed a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching and her current professional interests include collaborative learning, assessment, sepsis-induced coagulation disorders, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, university clinical teaching, and optimisation of referral-based medicine.  She was honoured as the recipient of the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2015.
