Michela De Lucia graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa (Italy) in 1997. She earned a postgraduate specialty degree in Small Animal Pathology and Clinic in 2001. She worked in the field of small animal dermatology, as practitioner, from 2001 to 2007. Later she completed a dermatology residency program under the supervision of Dr. Alessandra Fondati and she obtained the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) diploma passing the exam in 2011.

From then on, she has been working as chief director of the dermatology service at the San Marco Veterinary Clinic and Laboratory, Veggiano (Italy), where she is involved in the clinic, diagnostic and research areas. She is completely devoted to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients suffering from skin and ear diseases. She is the author of publications in the field of companion animal dermatology in peer-reviewed national and international journals and she is a speaker at national and international courses and meetings.
