Prof. Dr. Guillaume Chanoit graduated from the Veterinary School of Toulouse, France, in 1998. He subsequently trained and worked at the Veterinary School of Lyon and at North Carolina State University, USA, where he was appointed Assistant Professor in Soft Tissue Surgery. He later joined the University of Bristol and Langford Vets Referral Hospital, UK, as Senior Lecturer, Soft Tissue Surgeon, Educator and Researcher.

In 2022, Prof. Chanoit returned to France as Professor of Veterinary Surgery at VetAgroSup, Veterinary School of Lyon, where he currently serves as Professor and Head of the Small Animal Surgery Service. He is extensively involved in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing veterinary education and has supervised numerous interns and surgical residents. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), he has delivered more than 450 presentations at national and international meetings and is particularly interested in innovative and engaging approaches to veterinary education.

Prof. Chanoit has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, with a major research focus on veterinary and comparative cardiothoracic, vascular and interventional surgery. He has secured more than €1.5 million in research funding as principal or co-investigator and has held several leadership and editorial roles, including Associate Editor for the Journal of Small Animal Practice and Veterinary Surgery. He is an elected member of the Board of Regents of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) and has served on several ECVS and ACVS committees.
