Richard graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 1998. After graduation Richard spent a year in general practice before an internship at the University of Pennsylvania. After a year in emergency practice in London, Richard started a surgical residency at Bristol University being trained by Professor Peter Holt. The position at Bristol was biased towards soft tissue surgery, but Richard also gained extensive experience in orthopaedic and spinal surgery.
After attaining specialist status by the ECVS Diploma in 2007, Richard worked as a lecturer in surgery at the Royal (Dick) School and the Royal Veterinary College, before joining Vets Now as a Specialist surgeon in 2009. He takes referrals in all aspects of surgery, with particular interests in surgery for urinary incontinence, upper airway surgery and wound treatment and reconstruction.
