Andrea graduated from the Veterinary College at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. She completed an ACVIM neurology residency programme at the University of Georgia in USA. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine for Neurology in 1995 and a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology in 1994. Andrea has been a lecturer in neurology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, USA. She completed her Ph.D./habilitation in 2000, became professor of neurology and is head of the neurology service at Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich since then. Andrea enjoys teaching and clinical research. She has taught clinical neurology to numerous veterinarians, residents and postgraduate students and states “I just love the interactive way of teaching neurology in seminars”. Besides being a dedicated teacher Andrea is also an active researcher in the field of veterinary neurology with a great publication record.
