Hannelore De porte graduated as a veterinarian from Ghent University (Belgium) in 2015. After one year as a junior lecturer at Utrecht University (the Netherlands), she spent over seven years in a busy first-opinion small animal practice in the north of Antwerp (Belgium), where she developed a strong passion for surgery. During this time, she gained substantial experience in second-opinion orthopedic procedures, including TPLO and total hip replacement, although her main interest has always been soft tissue surgery.
In 2024, Hannelore started a specialized surgical internship at AniCura Haaglanden (the Netherlands), where she commenced an ECVS residency in 2025. Her particular field of interest is minimally invasive surgery.
With her clinical background and current training pathway, Hannelore aims to share her surgical expertise and enthusiasm with colleagues in practice.
Outside of work, she is an avid sports enthusiast, with CrossFit as a regular outlet. She also enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures and nature, good food and wine, skiing, and diving. Walking with her dog Lou and running with her Spanish horse Sueño are among her favorite activities.
