Dr. Maturawan Tunhikorn is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist with long-standing clinical experience in small animal dermatology. Since the early 2000s, she has been actively involved in dermatology practice, combining clinical work with academic teaching and training. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University, Thailand.
Dr. Tunhikorn graduated with Second-Class Honors from Kasetsart University in 1999, where her interest in dermatology began during her early clinical experience at a private animal hospital. She pursued further training through the Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney, earning a certificate in veterinary dermatology in 2000. Since then, she has continuously practiced in the field of veterinary dermatology, both in clinical and academic settings. In 2013, she began her dermatology residency at Cornell University and achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in 2019.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tunhikorn is deeply engaged in education. She teaches undergraduate veterinary students and also plays an active role in continuing education programs for practicing veterinarians. She has lectured extensively in Thailand and internationally. Her clinical and research interests include allergic skin disease, infectious dermatoses, and improving dermatological care for companion animals.
She currently serves as Vice President of the Asian Society of Veterinary Dermatology and Vice President of the Thai Society of Veterinary Dermatology. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Tunhikorn enjoys spending time with her family and proudly supports her daughter, a passionate young competitor who is actively involved in both performing arts and sports. She also enjoys quiet time at home with her dog, Jaonang, and her cat, Tempura.
